Education

The course in power electronics taught (ad interim) by the Advanced Mechatronic Systems Group (AMS) is aimed at communicating basic concepts and their relationships as well as analysis methods, where, in all cases, industry applications are used as the basis of the explanations. Further courses in mechatronics, railway systems, and model predictive control of power converters are taught by experts from industry, and AMS PhD students support the exercise classes.

To cover the entire spectrum from analysis and dimensioning to measurement techniques and experimental analysis, knowledge acquired in lectures and exercises can be applied in specialized practicals ("Fachpraktika") using industry-like laboratory hardware or in bachelor/semester projects and master theses, where undergraduates work on sub-tasks of research projects under close supervision of PhD students or postdocs.
